In fact, a little stress can push you to grow, focus, and perform better.
The real problem is when your body doesn’t know how to handle it.
You can’t avoid work deadlines or family challenges.
But you can train your body and mind to respond differently.
The way you manage stress impacts your energy, health, and even how you age.
Here’s a 1-minute fix:
1. Sit upright, close your eyes.
2. Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 seconds.
3. Hold for 4 seconds.
4. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6–8 seconds.
5. Repeat for 5–10 cycles.
You’ll feel your heart rate drop, your muscles loosen, and your mind slow down, all in under 60 seconds.
BONUS: 9 ways to reduce your stress response:
1. 4-4-4 breathing (box breathing) – Inhale 4s, hold 4s, exhale 4s (3 to 5 mins)
2. Walk after lunch for 10–20 mins outdoors
3. Morning sunlight – Stand outside for 10 to 20 mins. This resets your circadian rhythm & mood.
4. Lift something heavy 2–3 sets, 3x/week
5. Cut caffeine after 12pm (prevents anxiety spikes & poor sleep)
6. Eat without screens. Focus on chewing and tasting.
7. End the shower cold. 30s cold rinse before stepping out
8. Put phone down 1 hr before bed, try to read or stretch instead
9. Hug your loved one and/or pets for 20 seconds
