Take Type II Diabetes, for example.
The typical approach focuses on:
Blood sugar levels
Hemoglobin A1c
Insulin injections or oral meds
But here’s the truth:
Even when glucose is brought into the “normal” range, complications still occur.
Why? Because the body is a complex adaptive system.
Root cause thinking won’t cut it. It’s too reductionistic, looking for one problem in a system with shared pathways and countless variables.
What we need is a broader, systems-based perspective that considers all the moving parts (lifestyle, environment, genetics, and more).
I share daily education on systems-based medicine, longevity, and healthy aging. If this resonates with you, hit SUBSCRIBE so we can meet again.
